1 Apositive, realistic view ofself. Accepting self as O.K. Getting along with oneself.
2. A positive view of others and a strong sense of identification
with all humankind. Non judgmental and not prejudicial.
3. The courage to be open to experience with little fear of
making a mistake. We called it the "Courage to be imperfect."
4. Surrounding self with people in the process of becoming more -fully-functioning human beings as Jesus surrounded himself with the twelve disciples.
Briefly, these are some of the some of the principles of encouragement.
1. There are on bad children, just discouraged children.
2. Accepting others and self as being fine as they are. Unconditional regard.
3. Concentrating on changing self rather than others.
4. Mutual trust and respect.
5. Offering choices rather than demands.
6. Hope and faith rather than unrealistic expectations.
7. Creating a cooperative atmosphere. Helping and being useful: Being, a help, not a burden

8. Relating equaly as a human beings and, yet at the same time, encouraging each other to become more and more unique.
9. Acceptance, recognition and appreciation of self and others.
